Mente Marine ACS R (roll) Trim tab control for existing trim tabs It takes the work out of trimming for course and wind changes, as well as changes in passenger seating positions.
- Compatibility (hydraulic trim tabs): Bennett, Instatrim, Trimmaster, TFX Teleflex, TX Controls
- Compatibility (electromechanical trim tabs): Bennett, Lectrotab, Lenco, Eltrim, Ultraflex
The deep VRümpfen of modern sports boats are designed to give you a smooth ride in rough water The greater the deadrise, the more necessary it is to maintain a straight course using trim tabs. Roll and heeling depend on the wind and the position of the passengers. The longitudinal tilt, also called trim angle, depends on the speed and the load. When changing course, the wind direction also changes, and the boat must be re-trimmed. If passengers change position, the boat must also be re-trimmed. This need to constantly adjust the trim to the changing load conditions distracts the boat operator unnecessarily and therefore poses a safety risk at high speeds.
Curve Detection
During turns, the boat leans towards the inside of the curve. The system incorporates a gyroscope that detects such turns. Therefore, trim adjustments are not made during a turn. Unnecessary trim adjustments are automatically prevented by the system, and the boat exits the turn with optimal trim. The AUTO LED indicator flashes when the system detects a turn and does not change the trim. Once a stable straight-ahead course is established, the new trim angle is measured, and the Mente Marine ACS system corrects the trim based on the changed conditions. Adaptive System: The Mente Marine ACS system adjusts to boats of all sizes. Thanks to the adaptive system, the boat can sail with an optimal trim angle, taking into account differences in size and trim tab operation. The system also detects varying sea conditions. In calm water, the system corrects more quickly than in rough seas. This allows for a quick reaction when necessary and prevents unnecessary trim tab movements in high waves.
Displacement Mode
When planing speed is undershot, the trim tabs lose their effect. The Mente Marine ACS recognizes this operating condition and does not attempt to correct in displacement mode. During the acceleration phase, the Mente Marine ACS system automatically activates and corrects the trim even before the boat has "gotten over the crest."
The AUTO indicator flashes during displacement mode. The flashing indicates that automatic mode is active but temporarily not in use due to the slow speed.
Automatic/Manual Mode
The automatic button is used to set the operating mode of the Mente Marine ACS system. A short press of the automatic button switches between automatic and manual modes.
In automatic mode, the boat's trim is adjusted automatically, provided the indicator is illuminated. When the indicator is flashing, the automatic mode is locked while the boat is making a sharp turn and during displacement mode. Of course, the automatic mode can be switched off and the panel used as a manual control, which is useful, for example, in rough water to trim the bow even deeper and thus make the ride more comfortable. 0px; text-decoration-line: none; text-decoration-thickness: auto; text-decoration-style: solid; box-sizing: border-box; caret-color: rgb(51, 51, 51); color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Lato; font-size: 16px;">
